In his last appearance in Iowa City, Alpin Hong amazed school kids by playing piano and Tetris at the same time. Then he amazed an adult audience with a performance that had patrons invoking the name Horowitz.
Hong returns to bring his fiery technique and his winning personality (and probably his skateboard) to music lovers up and down the Cultural Corridor. Clapp Recital Hall is just one of an array of places Hong will invade.
Whether he’s playing the piano or a video game—or both—he throws himself into the endeavor and brings the audience along for the ride.
