Residencies featuring the Joffrey II Dancers during the 1980s are a celebrated chapter in the Hancher story. Adam Sklute, who was a member of Joffrey II at the time, has fond memories of dancing in Iowa. Now he leads Ballet West II from Utah to the Midwest for an ambitious weeklong residency. The company will bring the joy of dance to four communities—Fairfield, Kalona, Muscatine, and Iowa City—interacting with school children as well as presenting free outdoor performances. Students from The University of Iowa Dance Department will participate in classes and workshops with the professional dancers and will also dance
in each performance.
Program for the performances in Fairfield, Iowa City, Kalona, and Muscatine.
