You’ll only need the edge of your seat, and you’ll have a devil of a time looking away. Diavolo, says the Los Angeles Times, “might very well be the dance bridge to the 21st century.” It’s an apt image, as artistic director and choreographer Jacques Heim employs amazing structures that are far more than mere sets. The dancers climb and leap and slide and fly from, around, over, and through these constructions.
There’s a palpable element of danger that elicits gasps from the audience, and the wild applause just might come from sweaty palms.
