"Clearly bound for greatness." —MusicWeb International

Enso String Quartet

Friday, May 4, 7:30 pm — Zion Lutheran Church

Friday, May 4, 2:15-3:15pm
Master class with chamber music students, Music West Interim Building Atrium. Observers welcome.

"Enso" refers to fullness of spirit, making it a fitting descriptor for the group quickly ascending the ranks of the country's most accomplished young string quartets. The Enso String Quartet plays "as though all the hounds of hell were chasing them—playing that threatens the very limit of technical possibility—and yet miraculously, they storm through, exultantly" (MusicWeb International), displaying taut precision, staggering athleticism, and a warm ensemble sound. Given its Grammy nomination for Best Chamber Music Performance, and top awards in contests including the Banff International String Quartet Competition and Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the Enso String Quartet is clearly living up to its moniker.
