Celebrating Hancher's history…and its future.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago

Sunday, September 4, 7 pm — Hancher Green FREE!

See the evening’s program and meet the dancers with our online playbill! [pdf]

Please note: The Hancher footbridge will close at noon on the day of the performance and will not reopen until well after the performance. The IMU footbridge will be open.

Rain date is Monday, September 5 at 2 pm.

A movement workshop led by Taryn Russell, Hubbard Street 2 director, will take place on the Hancher Green prior to the performance, 5-6 pm. It is open to all and all ability levels and it's free!

Welcome our 2011–12 season with a celebration of Hancher's treasured past and promising future! In the vein of our 35th anniversary festivities featuring the Joffrey Ballet, Hancher
is throwing a party with the ground-breaking contemporary dancers of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. This free, outdoor performance will serve as an official farewell to our original facility, as well as a formal greeting to budding excitement on the horizon.

We want your Hancher memories! As the time to say goodbye to the original auditorium nears, we want to collect your favorite stories about performances you attended, friends you connected with, special events you were a part of…anything that makes you smile when you think about Hancher Auditorium. We'll gather the stories together and share them on our website. Please send your memories to hancher-social@uiowa.edu.
