In the summer of 2007, the triumphant river-to-river tour in celebration of Hancher’s 35th anniversary underlined the extraordinary relationship Iowa audiences share with the Joffrey Ballet.
Now, the Joffrey returns to the Hancher stage with a program that includes Jerome Robbins’ romantic In the Night, set to the music of Chopin, as well as …smile with my heart, choreographed by famed former University of Iowa student Lar Lubovitch. Originally created for a centennial celebration of Richard Rodgers’ life and music, …smile with my heart features live music and will highlight the athleticism and joy that define the Joffrey Ballet.
