Stephen Petronio Company
Saturday, March 28, 7:30 pm

“Bloom is to be in flower, a time of vigor, freshness, and flourish; an awesomely energized and beautiful moment.” So says Stephen Petronio, a man the San Francisco Examiner has described as “the most fearlessly inventive, most audaciously virtuosic dancer-choreographer of his generation.”

Petronio’s spectacular company makes its Hancher debut to perform Bud Suite and BLOOM, each featuring music by Rufus Wainright, as well as The Rite Part, an inventive take on Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Words by Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson are at the center of Wainright’s composition for BLOOM, which will be performed by a local youth choir
