Takács Quartet
with Muzsikás and special guest Marta Sebestyen
Wednesday, November 12, 7:30 pm, Clapp Recital Hall
It’s difficult to imagine a more perfect blending of artists and music. The ensemble Muzsikás and singer Marta Sebestyen are Hungary’s most famous gypsy artists. They join the Takács Quartet—founded in Budapest in 1975 and now based in Boulder, Colorado—to delve into the roots of the music of Béla Bartók.
The evening will boast a rollicking program and the musicianship that led The Guardian to say of the Takács Quartet, “when only superlatives seem to do, there is a risk of indulging in hyperbole. But the fact is: they are peerless.”
Supported by Douglas and Linda Paul
