Space Place Theater
Space Place Theater is an intimate performance space located within North Hall on the University of Iowa campus. The stage is level with the first row, and the seats are all raised. Hancher performances at Space Place are assigned seating.

Space Place Theater is located within North Hall on the University of Iowa campus – on the east side of the Iowa River, just north of the Iowa Memorial Union.
From I-80 take the Dubuque St exit going south. Follow Dubuque St to the stoplight at E Market St, then turn right. Follow E Market to the bottom of the hill and turn right onto N Madison St. North Hall is the very last building at the north end of N Madison St. Once inside North Hall, Space Place is located on the 1st floor.
From downtown Iowa City at the pedestrian mall, take S. Dubuque St headed north (towards I-80). At the second stoplight, turn left onto E Market St. Follow E Market to the bottom of the hill and turn right onto N Madison St. North Hall is the very last building at the north end of N Madison St. Once inside North Hall, Space Place is located on the 1st floor.
Parking
Hourly parking is available in the North Campus Ramp off of N Madison St.
Seating
Hancher performances at Space Place are assigned seating. The chairs are padded with armrests. The stage is level with the first row, and the seats are all raised.
Accessibility
North Hall is built into the hill so that the west side entrance is at the basement level, and the east side is level with the 3rd floor. It is advantageous to park in the North Ramp, drive up to the top level, then take the parking ramp elevator up to the walkway, which is at street level with N Clinton St and the 3rd floor entrance of North Hall. Space Place Theater is then accessible via the entrance that is at street level with N Clinton St. From there, take the elevator down to the 1st floor. Accessible seats in Space Place are located in the first row. Please contact Hancher Accessibility Services at 319-335-1158 to arrange for accessible seating at a specific event.
The accessible pathway from the North Campus Ramp is a somewhat lengthy one since the elevator is located on the opposite corner of the ramp from North Hall. Contact the Hancher Box Office to inquire about the possibility of arranging a drop off near the front (3rd Floor) entrance if this distance may be problematic for you.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located on the first floor, just down the hallway from Space Place.
