PERRY, IOWA [mouse over photo for another view] On main street in Perry are two gates on each end of Soumas Court. Sculptor Albert Paley used metal parts from the history of Perry—farm, manufacturing, railroad—donated by local residents. Half a block down the street is another real piece of history—a Milwaukee Railroad caboose. The Milwaukee railroad was a major part of Perry for over 100 years. Tell
Spot what parts in the sculpture you like or tell us
stories about the railroad. You might want to ask someone older
about a railroad story.
Dan Zanes will be in Perry June 7-8 and 12. Spot home / Fun & Games / Things to print / Share with us / Ask Spot / For Parents © 2005. The University of Iowa. All rights reserved.
