BOX OFFICE INFORMATION

The Hancher Box Office sells tickets for all Hancher events, as well as select events
presented by the UI Division of Performing Arts (Dance, Theatre and Music departments).

As of June 5, 2013, the Iowa Summer Rep performances of The Who’s Tommy have been cancelled. Performances of Bad Seed have been moved to the Coralville Center of the Performing Arts, and the run changed to June 27-29. Please contact the Hancher box office if you have already purchased Summer Rep tickets.

Iolanthe performances remain unchanged.

POLICIES

HANDLING CHARGES
Handling charges are applied to ticket orders based on the ordering method.
• New orders placed in person at the box office, no handling charges
• By phone, $3 per order and $1.50 per ticket
• Online, $3 per order and $2.50 per ticket
• By fax, mail or drop off of an order form, a flat fee of $10 for Hancher and $5 for the
Division of Performing Arts. There are no additional charges for mailing tickets.

TICKET CATEGORIES
College student - students at any college or university with a valid ID. Please note that for
Hancher performances a college student may bring a guest at the student rate.
UI Student – students at the University of Iowa with a valid ID
Senior – people 65 and older
Youth – children aged 17 and younger
Nonstudent – everyone else

COLLEGE STUDENT TICKET POLICIES
Student discounts and policies are determined by the presenter of the performance.

For Hancher performances college students at any college or university may attend a
performance using a student ticket. Anyone may purchase college student tickets, but the
college student themselves must attend the performance and present their valid student ID
with their ticket at the door. Each college student may also bring a guest at the student rate.

For University Theatres and Music Department productions, as well as Dance Gala and
Dancers in Company performances, only UI students may attend using a UI Student ticket.
Anyone may purchase UI Student tickets, but each student ticket must be accompanied by a
valid UI Student ID at the performance. Students at other colleges and universities are NOT
entitled to student prices for these performances.

For other performances by the UI Department of Dance, only UI students may attend using
a UI Student ticket. Each UI student may receive one free ticket. To obtain this free ticket,
the UI Student themselves must present their valid UI Student ID at the Hancher Box Office in
person. Free UI Student dance tickets may not be obtained over the phone or online.

DISCOUNTS

HANCHER
Order three or more events and save!
When you purchase three or more events, you'll save 15% on all events. (Please note that the
multiple event discount is NOT available online).

GROUP
For Hancher events: Organized groups of 20 or more may purchase tickets at $5 off of the
regular price to most Hancher events.

For Division of Performing Arts events: Organized groups of 15 or more may purchase
tickets at $2 off of the regular price to most Theatre and Dance events.

To receive a group discounts, all tickets must be purchased at the same time with one
payment type. A flat $5 handling charge applies to all group orders. Group discounts are not
